I’ve already come to two of their classes and still have two more to go!! Both of them were with Emma and my other two will definitely be with her as well! She’s amazing 🤩 Her energy is contagious and makes you challenge yourself! She reminds you to push your limits and put aside your limiting beliefs and thoughts! Her music choice is on point. I love that at the end of her classes she gives you a couple of minutes to stretch and connect with your body and self! Can’t recommend this place, or her, enough.
The facilities are well equipped with towels, showers, hairdryers, deodorant, earplugs, water, everything you may need.
Most of their classes last 45mins but on Saturdays, they have a one hour long class, at least in Opera, don’t know if the other locations do as well.
Phones are not allowed inside the classroom and it’s very nice to have the room be all dark since you don’t feel like comparing yourself or being laughed at when being your first time.
The front row bikes are usually saved for frequent customers since you have certain specific moves that you may not get or understand during your first class so it’s easier to follow the others
As I have just moved to Paris, I’m looking for a new spin class. Safe to say, I DO NOT RECOMMEND Dynamo. As a test, I did two noon classes with Sliman and Taïna.
What absolutely left a bad taste was Taïna. I had to take my phone into the class because the locker I used could not be locked (studio’s issue). The studio is cramped so when the previous classes ended, it was chaotic and I couldn’t pick a new locker so I took my phone with me just to be safe. Halfway through the session, the screen of my phone lit up when my hand accidentally touched it while reaching for my bottle. She snatched my phone WITHOUT MY PERMISSION and left it with the front desk. After class, she didn’t even bother to return it personally to me. It was disrespectful and bad taste.
I have been to many spin classes in major cities in the US and London with great experiences but none as bad as here. Dynamo does not foster encouraging environment for new joiners at all.
Additionally, if you are an absolute beginner in spinning, don’t bother coming. The room is almost always pitch black and coaches don’t stay consistently on the bike to lead by example. They would also prefer you to stay at the back.
The provided towels also smelled really bad so I am questioning the hygiene of the studio as well.
My favorite place for indoor cycling many 45min courses available from 8am to 8pm and the coaches are excellent
Jon is the best ever Dynamo coach 🔥🔥 …
People who welcome you and the staff are genuinely nice and helpful.
However, the changing rooms are very very tiny. You have to queue to have a shower and to dry your hair. Also, the shower itself is very small you cannot hang anything in there. At the end, the changing room gets very dirty. The class itself is good and the music and material are great. However I got an instructor who seems to have a very big ego. I brought my English-speaking friends and she didn’t even bother to explain in English although, to tell them to be quiet she was very fluent. She gives you these life advise during the class that are hilarious like “when you come here, leave your problems aside and focus on your inner energy and talk to your inner self” or “dynamo is intense…. And if you’re here, you’re as intense as dynamo” with a kind of hipster-sexy voice 🤣
Very kind staff but small changing rooms was a bit of a bother for me. Also the trainer was a bit too intense for me but I think it's a good quality for many. Otherwise they were very kind and energetic. It's just a preference really.
I can't speak for all of the studios and all of the instructors, but my class with Cynthia Hayek was incredible! I was visiting Paris on a trip from the States and wanted to check out a class. I do not speak French but figured as long as I could hear the beat of the music and watch everyone else, I would be ok.
Cynthia was incredible and had such a fun playlist! She was accommodating to some of us who were only English speaking, without overdoing it or taking away from the class for everyone else. You could tell she really enjoys what she does and her energy was contagious.
If you can only take one or two classes while you are in town, take one of Cynthia's!!
Cyril is by far my favorite. Emma and Thierry are exceptional with high energy and excellent music. Dynamo is ⚡️ …
Didn’t enjoy my experience. The studio felt super small and cramped. The teacher was also incredibly rude… she shouted at me in front of the class when my Garmin watch lit up in the studio (accidentally!). If they have a rule on no smartwatches, this should have been explained at the start. It’s a shame because I’d heard a lot about the place and otherwise the workout itself was good - if a bit expensive.
